Minds in the Water - London Screening

On the 24th of July, Global Ocean attended a screening of a new eco-documentary 'Minds in the Water' presented by Surfers for Cetaceans at the Roxy Bar and Screen, London.

Film Synopsis: Minds in the Water documents the journey of traveling professional surfer Dave Rastovich, from an ocean minded admirer to an ocean activist. Through the charismatic journey of Dave’s life, witness an adventure spanning the globe from Australia and the Galapagos to Tonga, Alaska and Japan. See first hand how one surfer’s quest to protect dolphins and whales has blossomed into a movement of like minds.

Following on from it's UK premiere in Jersey during this years IWC, this was the first time the film had been shown in the capital. The screening was a huge success and received a fantastic response from the 40 strong audience. We were also lucky enough to be joined by Howie Cooke, international whale activist, accomplished artist and director of Surfers for Cetaceans, who answered questions following the screening and even played a few songs on his guitar!

For the film’s star, “‘Minds In The Water’ is a great way to share a realistic, deeper look at how surfers all around the world can do their part to resolve human-created problems that exist in our most cherished aspect of life, namely the ocean,” says Rastovich.

All proceeds from the evening went to Surfers for Cetaceans
