Rishi Avala - Project Assistant Dubai

Rishi Avala has a deep and abiding passion for ocean conservation and mitigating climate solutions at a grass root level. He has been locally awarded for his environmental activities and is an active volunteer and a proactive member of several NGO's, such as EWS-WWF, EDA and EEG. He is a certified ECO DIVER, completing an intensive training course in Protocol Survey and Data Collection of corals, fish and other creatures for Scientific and conservation purposes known as REEF CHECK. He started assisting Global Oceans in March 2012 to raise awareness and stop shark fin exports in the UAE. He is helping with organizing events and will be spearheading youth volunteers to promote outreach programs for fishermen and educational classes for schools, colleges and other communities. He plans to form a youth venture to conserve oceans and fight climate change. This association shall be a platform for all expat and local youth in the UAE. Its mission would be to save sharks, corals, turtles and reduce carbon emissions through youth development and leadership workshops. It envisions a world of sustainable practices by engaging and interconnecting communities, schools/colleges committed to change their perspective of this Planet and its diversity.
