Having begun her career in architecture, Flora Fairbairn has been curating exhibitions in a range of disused, architecturally interesting non-gallery space since 2000. During that time she has discovered and launched the careers of a huge number of up and coming artists, many of whom have gone on to achieve very successful careers. Whilst curating art exhibitions she has also been acting as adviser to a wide range of individuals as well as businesses, whether in helping them to build up art collections, or in providing creative advice. She has a strong belief in the importance of raising awareness of the plight of our oceans and feels that art can be a useful tool with which to achieve this.
