    The Central Caribbean Marine Institute was established to create a regional centre for excellence in coral reef science.     Koen Van Warebeek

     

    Global Ocean funded Koen van Warebeek, a well-respected scientist and a scientific member of the Belgian delegation to the IWC, to re-establish links in West Africa and to allow the temporary continuation of Koen's scientific project in relation to the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS).

     

    Central Caribbean Marine Institute

    The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)

     

    Global Ocean continues to support the MSC and, despite the fact that it recieves no government funding, the Marine Stewardship Council is jumping from strenght to strength.
